Australia Day at Parramatta Park 2008

For the second year in a row flyers from PRCAC plus some guests participated in a model aircraft display at the Australia Day Celebrations held at Parramatta Park.  This year we had to handle the organisation for the whole event including the CASA display permit & I must say that both the MAS CASA liason officer, Bob Davidson, and the staff at CASA were a pleasure to deal with & most helpful.

No barricades for crowd control were erected when we arrived but the State Emergency Services team wasted no time taping off the area. There was no control line flown this year but the display by the electric models, the two helicopters and the taxi demonstration by a turbine model were most enjoyed by the crowd.  The space available was more than adequate for the types of models flown.  Overall a good demo by all involved and I’m sure that as the club grows we will have many more participants.  Many thanks to those who took part and to Clive Marriott who supplied the photos.
